My works are diverse in terms of style and expression. I tend to choose one or another

method of plastic expression thinking about what is best for the expression of a certain idea. And

yet, I could single out one particular feature that is often reiterated in my works, i.e. a drawing or, to

be more exact, portrait images. When I was a child hoping to become “an artist,” I often dreamt

about the studies of graphic arts, but later on I chose to study ceramics. This sphere has opened up

vast creative possibilities in front of me and has become a crucial element in my artistic expression.

Nevertheless, the love for and attention to a graphic, linear image has persisted both in my works

and in my world outlook. Just like a detail, pattern, surface texture or glaze properties, a line is

important for me not only as a formal, decorative or ornamental feature of a ceramic work, but also

as an essential condition for the expression of a suggestive idea.

The characters of my ceramic-graphic works include the people important to me, i.e. friends, family

members, also various cult heroes; however, sometimes, these are absolute strangers from

newspaper or book pages, who wander into the world of my imagination like some mysterious

prophets carrying encoded messages or simply making a difference by their mere presence.

One more important feature typical of my works of art is the figurativeness that is so relevant in

contemporary ceramics and that is related both to the exaggeration of corporeality and the negation

of its traditional consequences. My figurative heroes are often immersed in a lyric mood;

sometimes they are anxious and filled with dramatic foreboding. I improvise not only on the theme

of a human figure, but also on the expressiveness of anthropomorphised animalistic characters; I

stylize and exaggerate figures highlighting their certain physical and meaningful features.

Nevertheless, my main goal has always been the suggestion of a work of art and the unity of idea and plastic expression.
